Engineering Consultancy

Independent technical advisory from feasibility through defect liability — delivered as a written position you can act on, not a report that describes the problem back to you.

Overview

Why this matters on your contract

Most technical problems on a construction contract are visible long before they become expensive. A specification that cannot be met with locally available material. A detail that cannot be built in the sequence the programme assumes. A clause that transfers a risk nobody priced. What is usually missing is not expertise but time — the project team is already fully occupied delivering the work in front of them.

Our consultancy service supplies that missing capacity. We come in as an independent technical reviewer, interrogate the assumptions behind the scope, and hand back a clear written position with a recommended course of action. We do not pad the report, and we do not hedge every finding into uselessness. If something is wrong, you will be told plainly and shown the evidence.

Scope

What the service includes

Every element below is covered as standard. Anything outside it is quoted separately and agreed before we begin.

Feasibility and scope review

Assessment of whether the proposed scope can be delivered within the stated budget, programme and site constraints, with the specific risks that threaten each.

Design and specification checking

Independent review of drawings and specifications for internal consistency, code compliance, constructability and completeness before they reach the site.

Buildability assessment

A construction-sequence walkthrough that identifies details which cannot be built as drawn, congested reinforcement, impossible tolerances and access conflicts.

Technical risk register

A documented register of technical and contractual risks with likelihood, impact, owner and recommended mitigation for each.

Contract clause advisory

Plain-language explanation of what the payment, variation, escalation and time clauses actually oblige you to do, and by when.

Second-opinion review

Independent verification of another consultant's design, quantity or claim position when you need certainty before committing.

Our Approach

How we do this differently

01

You get a position, not a description

Every finding carries a recommended action and the reasoning behind it. You should never have to ask what we think you should do.

02

Independence is real

We take no share of construction value and no commission from suppliers. There is no outcome we benefit from other than being right.

03

Findings arrive while they are still cheap

A detail changed at review costs a drawing revision. The same detail changed at third-floor slab level costs a month.

A single-building package is typically reviewed within five to seven working days. Multi-discipline or infrastructure packages are scoped after we see the drawing register — we will give you a firm date before starting, not an estimate that slips.

Frequently, and it is one of the most valuable things we do. We report to whoever commissions the review, findings are factual rather than personal, and we are happy to present them jointly so your team can respond in the same room.

We prepare technical positions and supporting analysis that stand up in formal proceedings, and our principal engineer has given evidence in determination hearings. We will tell you honestly at the outset whether your position is strong.

Free scope review · No obligation

Send us the document. We will tell you exactly what it needs.

A bidding document, a contract, a stalled bill, a stack of unrecorded measurements — whatever the position, a senior engineer will review it and come back within one working day with a written assessment, a timeline and a fixed price. There is no charge for this and nothing to sign.
